CYNANCHUM MARNIERIANUM - also known as the "Stick Plant" or "Bundle of Sticks" plant, is a succulent native to Madagascar that's known for its unusual appearance and unique survival strategies: The plant has long, thin, leafless stems that can grow up to several feet long and are often purplish or reddish in color. The stems are covered in irregular tubercles and minute hairs, and the plant produces intricate golden-green flowers that resemble miniature Chinese lanterns. Survival strategies The plant has evolved to survive in its arid environment by storing water in its stems and playing dead to avoid predation. When exposed to intense sun, the plant tans up to blend in with the trees it grows on. The plant is relatively easy to care for and is a popular choice for succulent enthusiasts. It needs bright indirect or filtered sun, cactus mix soil, and should be allowed to dry between waterings. The plant can be repotted using a coarse cacti soil that drains water well. The plant is a slow grower but can fill out a hanging basket rapidly if the stems are pruned and poked back into the pot to root. We grow and ship in 2 1/2" pots with multiple sticks
